A mask was the external form of an internal truth, the symbol of everything the human being could not yet face with a naked soul. Every civilisation understood this paradox. Social, emotional, psychological. People wear curated identities, controlled reactions, rehearsed versions of themselves. They hide wounds behind performance. They silence truth behind survival.
